Dr. Sergio Huerta is a dual board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He serves as Chief Medical Officer of BayMark Health Services OTP Division in the Western Region. He also works as a medical reviewer for MedMark Treatment Centers. Dr. Huerta brings extensive experience in the treatment of opioid use disorder and is dedicated to expanding access to evidence-based care.
A graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Dr. Huerta is an Associate Professor and Medical Director of the inpatient Addiction Medicine consult service at UNM. He has led statewide quality improvement initiatives and contributed to NIH-funded research focused on improving treatment outcomes. His work supports innovative, patient-centered approaches to medication for opioid use disorder.
